The second center for cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) was established in Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan Province in cooperation with the Health Ministry.
CCTA is an imaging method that uses a computed tomography (CT) scanner to look at the structures and blood vessels of the heart. “The center will soon offer such services to people in the region,” said Dr. Mohammad Shekari, chancellor of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences.
Rapid development of CCTA technology in recent years has led to better diagnosis in coronary artery diseases. A noninvasive procedure, CCTA images are found to be 95-99% accurate.
The other CCTA center is located in Tehran, reports IRNA.
