Armenian journalists and chief editors from across the world will meet the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati on September 17.
The meeting is organized on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Alik, an Armenian daily newspaper based in Tehran, says the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Guidance Ministry.
Alik, initially a weekly, was founded in 1931. It started publishing every other day since 1935. In 1941, it became a daily and has been published continuously ever since.
To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the daily that has a circulation of 4,350, journalists and editors who work for the Armenian-language press and media outlets, are invited from Armenia, Syria, Czech Republic, France, Canada and the US to the rare Tehran meeting.
