Yesterday’s Walls

Painter Danial Mollanorouzi is holding an exhibition he calls ‘Yesterday’s Walls’. His works are inspired by ancient and historical walls in Iran.

Paintings are adorned with designs, motifs and patterns used on walls, ceilings and facades of old Iranian architecture, Gallery Info reported.

The venue is Chahar Art Gallery located at No. 4, Eshraqi Alley, Shariati Street, south of Seyyed-Khandan Bridge. The show opened on May 4 for ten days.

In painting the old motifs and concepts, the artist has adopted a contemporary approach.

“The walls of my homeland impart thousands of tales without using a word…The designs on adobe, stone and plaster walls reflect a rather deep mystical experience. They indicate our collective unconsciousness,” Mollanorouzi wrote in a note to the exhibit.
