The Fourth National Conference on Optics and Laser Engineering will be held September 1-3 in Malek-Ashtar University of Technology in Shahin Shahr, Isfahan Province. The annual event creates a platform for scientists, scholars, students, and industrialists in the field to share and exchange ideas, reports IRNA. The United Nations has declared 2015 ‘International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies’, and the conference commemorates Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen), the polymath and philosopher who made significant contributions to the principles of optics and visual perception, said the event’s secretariat. An exhibition on the capacities and accomplishments of firms active in the field will also be held.
